JPA #22-1297 The primary purpose is to stabilize a failing bulkhead. The secondary purpose is to protect the property against erosion due to wave action.Alternatives considered included building the new bulkhead landward of the existing bulkhead.This was not pursued due to an existing 24" tree, utility lines and tie backs.Other alternatives considered included a timber bulkhead or block wall bulkhead. These options would create more disturbance to the bottomlands so were not pursued.The living shoreline will be planted with potecleria cordata (pikerelweed) plugs spaced at 18" c-c (total of 115 +/- plants).
